USA Triathlon High Performance Junior Development Camps play a key role in preparing young athletes for national and international competition.  Camps designated under this program are aligned with the goals and objectives of the USAT High Performance Plan; a four year planned developed with and approved by the U.S. Olympic Committee. USAT HP camps are organized into three distinct levels with the 
Skills Camps
 serving as the preparatory level experience for emerging Youth and Junior Elite athletes Race Age 12-16.
 

2014 USA Triathlon National Skills Camp - Texas

Dates:
Monday, June 29 at 3 PM to Friday, July 3 at at 11 AM

Location:
2100 Memorial Boulevard
Kerrville, Texas 78028

USA Triathlon Membership:
To register for this event you must have a valid USA Triathlon Membership.

Registration Fee:
The registration fee is $545 to March 30, $590 to April 30 and $650 to May 31, 2015

Cancellation:
Registration fees are fully refundable Before March 31, 2015. From April 1- June 1 participants may receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given after June 1. Cancellation is accepted (and refunds given) within applicable time frames and by written request ONLY. For information contact the camp director.

Travel:
Athletes are responsible for travel to and from Schreiner University. If you intend to fly, you will arrive at San Antonio International Airport. Please note that the camp location is nearly an hour from the airport.  

Parent Meeting:
All parents are encouraged to attend the parent meeting upon arrival at the camp site. Camp details and athlete development will be discussed. Parents may also stay for dinner with the athletes; cost is $10 per person.

Housing:
Athletes will stay in spacious campus dorm rooms equipped with one bathroom. There will be 4 same-gender athletes per room.  Adult supervision at dorms is provided. Athletes must bring their own bed linens, towels and shower necessities.

Food:
Meals are provided by Schreiner University Dining Services. Food allergies are accommodated; please notify the camp director of your needs prior to arrival.

  • The beautiful Texas Hill Country
  • The Guadalupe River (for swim and transition training)
  • Mountaineer Fitness Center Complex
  • Outdoor 25-yd Swimming Pool
  • Full gym for strength training
  • A room dedicated to computrainers and an adjacent classroom for presentations
  • Kerrville Schreiner Park

IconOne multisport is proud to offer an awesome learning opportunity for athletes age 7-14 interested in learning more about the sport of triathlon.

When:
The day camp is MWF from 7:30am to 11am.
These week long day camps are offered during the following dates:

June 8-12, 2015
July 6-10, 2015
July 20-24, 2015.

Where: Texas Military Institute. 
20955 W. Tejas Trail. San Antonio, TX 78257

Cost: $89/week

Refunds: 80% refund until 6 weeks before the first Monday of camp 
50% refund until 4 weeks before the first Monday of camp
No refund one month prior to camp start date

What to expect:
Each day athletes will explore swim, bike, run skills and drills, age-appropriate strength training and body awareness, nutritional discussion, transition work, and much more in a safe, structured, supervised environment.  

All participants must be members of USA Triathlon.

Dip N Dart Family Swim/Run Event in San Antonio

A Super Fun Youth and Family/Friends Team Event

When:             Saturday March 28, 2015

Where:          Texas Military Institute

           San Antonio Texas 78257

Time:             Packet Pick-up begins at 8:00 am,
            First Wave begins at 9:00am

Event description:
A 2-person team event in which one team member must be age 7-15. The teammate can be of any age. 

Event format is swim/run x 3 in a 12 team heats.

One athlete (A) is the designated swimmer and the second(B) is the designated runner.

(A) will swim a designated distance in a 25m pool in the same lane,  They exit and tag the runner in transition zone 1.
(B) Runs to the track to complete distance then back to the pool to tag the swimmer in transition zone 2. (A) then swims snake style in the pool before exiting and tagging the runner again. (B) Repeats the run then tags the swimmer one more time. (A) repeats the swim then tags (B) for a total of (3) swims and (3) runs.
** exception is Ages 13-15 swimmers (athlete A) will remain in the same lane due to limited lane space.

Total team time is calculated and scored.

Categories: Based on age of youth/junior athlete:  Age 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15,

Awards:          Top 3 in each category.

Distances:    Age 7-8: 50m swim/200m run
Age 9-10: 100m swim/400m run
Age 11-12: 150m swim/800m run
Age 13-15: 200m swim/1200m run

No Refunds – Thank you for your support of the youth and junior team.
Registrations may be transferred
Event will be held rain or shine. In the event of a lightening, we will announce a re-scheduled date within the following week.
